Our Procedure

Let’s begin with your complimentary consultation

Come take a seat and stay awhile! We will discuss you, your significant other, your venue, your vision, your color palette and every detail in between - even some details you haven’t thought of. We take this time to get to know you as a couple and everything you want to achieve on your special day. Feel free to come prepared with your pinterest, inspo photos or even magazines - We are going to work on creating a custom mood board for your wedding, ensuring we are on the same page and capturing your dream aesthetic.

After our consult

We will create a floral proposal which is an itemized list of all your wants and needs complete with photos and detailed descriptions so you know exactly what you’re getting. As every event is unique we do not provide packages or require minimums, pricing is à la carte so you are welcome to spend your budget in the areas or on the items most important to you. The proposal serves as a “menu”, so you can proceed in moving forward with every item proposed, or just one or two. This is a working style document that typically changes throughout the planning process as we work with you to fine tune your vision and what your event will require.

When you have received your proposal and decided The Flower Cupboard is your florist

Yay, welcome to The Flower Cupboard Family! Now that you are a Flower Cupboard couple we do require a deposit to secure our services for your date, these deposits range depending on the size and scope of your event. Every cent of this deposit applies to your balance, it is not an additional fee! In the coming days, weeks and months leading up to your big day we work on finalizing your proposal and all the little details.

We require full payment of any outstanding balance 3 weeks before your event, at which point your plan is locked in and considered finalized. Even though things are considered finalized, we know weddings are full of the unexpected! We strive to stay as flexible as we can to accommodate small changes and additions, that may happen at the last minute.

Between booking and your wedding day we work with your wedding planner or day of coordinator, your venue, caterer, baker and all your other vendors to ensure we are all working together to create a seamless timeline that ensures an easy and effortless wedding day experience for you.

Delivery, set up & break down

We offer delivery, set up & break down for weddings of every size to ensure you can be truly hands off from getting ready to being sent off to your honeymoon! We deliver to multiple locations in the same day so everything is just where you need it to be. We set everything up on a specific timeline to ensure all the arrangements are at their peak when it is their time to shine! Break down is something often overlooked, but we take pride in ensuring your venue is returned to the state we found it in - with no traces of us ever being there! We believe it is our responsibility to ensure all flowers, greenery, petals, leaves etc are picked up and disposed of appropriately.

What happens to my flowers after my event?

You tell us! You paid for the flowers, they are yours to keep. If you need them for a post wedding brunch the next day, we can keep them overnight and deliver them so you get another use out of them. If you want to keep them or want guests to take them home, we can arrange for that too. Many centerpieces are arranged in vessels that belong to The Flower Cupboard provided on a rental basis, if this is the case and you would like to keep them, or give them away to guests we can arrange them in disposable containers that sit in or on your desired vessels so all thats left to do is grab them and take them home while we collect our vessels that night. If you have no plan or no idea what to do with all of these flowers (it’s okay, this can be overwhelming) our standard protocol in this situation is taking all of your arrangements back to our shop and reworking them into appropriately sized arrangements that we then deliver to The Hopsice House in Williamsburg, donated under the name of the just married couple. We hate to see any flowers go to waste, so this thoughtful & generous gesture is a beautiful second life for your wedding florals.
